As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the CCB - CCVoice, youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient back-end and front-end software solutions using Java, Spring and AWS Services.
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Provide hands-on leadership to a team of software engineers, offering guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to drive performance.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing feedback and suggestions to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices within the team, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and conventions.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve software issues, while continuously working to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Support internal end users by troubleshooting application issues and creating sustainable solutions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Java, J2EE, AWS, Cloud concepts and 8 plus years of applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture and mentor other team members.
- Proven experience in software development, specifically usingJava, spring based technologies in AWS / Cloud environment or Kubernetes
- Python based implementation for cloud and AI
- Advanced knowledge in one or more programming language(s)
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Strong skills in the software architecture and tech stack decision making.
- Strong background in working with APIs (especially Open API), ensuring efficient communication and integration between different systems.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Excellent intercultural, verbal, and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tactful delivery of opinions and feedback.
- Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and developer tools utilization and Devops exposure.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Ability to multi-task under deadlines.
