Job Description

Push the limits of what's possible with us as an experienced member of our Software Engineering team.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Provide guidance to software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
  • Serve as an integral member of the development team to create practical solutions in Agile/DevOps environments.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate clearly with stakeholders and present ideas effectively.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineer concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Experience in building data pipelines using Apache Spark, with proficiency in Java utilizing platforms such as AWS or Databricks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Core Java and Java EE application development.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform. 3+ years implementing data pipelines on Databricks, including use of Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows, and Delta Live Tables.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Experience with database programming to design and build enterprise-scale and high-volume Oracle data processing applications using packages, procedures,triggers, PL/SQL, Java Stored Procedures.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS/Databricks.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL optimization and troubleshooting performance .
  • Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of issues. Sense of urgency to solve problems and propose solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to multi-task, proactive and attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in AWS, Databricks, and Terraform are highly desirable.
  • Financial Products knowledge of Futures & Options, FX, Commodities, Equities and Equities Derivatives, as well as trade lifecycles and/or order workflow.
