Role: Engineering Lead

About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Lead who is a hands-on full-stack engineer with strong technical chops and emerging leadership capabilities. You will lead a small team of 45 engineers while continuing to contribute individually to architecture, design, and implementation.

This is a player-coach roleideal for someone transitioning from senior developer to early leadership. The ideal candidate brings not just coding excellence, but also the ability to mentor, review code, unblock teammates, and ensure delivery. A foundational understanding of prompt engineering and how LLM-based workflows integrate into modern applications is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Execution

• Manage, mentor, and support a team of 5 -10 full-stack engineers.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Ensure the team delivers high-quality features on time, with a focus on velocity and stability.

Hands-On Engineering

• Actively contribute to the codebase(expect 4050% IC work).
• Own complex modules across front-end and back-end (React/Next.js, Node.js, Python, etc.).
• Ensure best practices in coding, testing ,CI/CD, and deployment.

Tech Architecture & Decision-Making:

• Collaborate with product and design teams on planning and scoping.
• Review pull requests, guide on architecture, and drive code quality.
• Propose scalable, secure solutions for both UI and API layers.

Prompt Engineering (Desirable)

• Work with LLMs or integrate AI components into the product(e.g., Open AI, Lang Chain, Pinecone, Vector DBs).
• Experiment with and fine-tune prompts for productized AI features.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of total experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in full-stack engineering:
• Frontend: React/Next.js, HTML/CSS, TypeScript.
• Backend: Node.js or Python (FastAPI/Django preferred).
• Database: PostgreSQL/MongoDB; understanding of Redis, caching layers.
• DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, AWS or GCP
• 12 years experience in mentoring or leading small teams (can be informal).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.
• Exposure to prompt engineering, LLM APIs, or vector DBs is a big plus.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building internal tools or customer-facing SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, Open AI APIs, and AI toolchains.
• Prior experience in early-stage startups or fast-paced environments.
