PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Under Armour is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack to join the Personalization & Loyalty Squad, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing digital experiences that drive customer engagement, loyalty, and personalization across global ecommerce platforms.

This role is primarily focused on front-end engineering leading the development of scalable, high-performance user experience for web channels. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating seamless, personalized journeys, building modern user interfaces, and delivering intuitive experiences. As a full stack engineer, the candidate will also contribute to backend services, APIs, GraphQL, integrations and data driven solutions. They will collaborate closely with the e-comm engineering squads.

This role requires a strong engineering mindset, a passion for personalization experiences, and the ability to influence technical direction while mentoring team members. This position combines technical leadership, frontend expertise, and full stack development capabilities to help Under Armour deliver world-class personalization experiences that strengthen customer relationships and drive business growth.

Reporting Structure - You will report directly to a manager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India.

YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable personalization and loyalty solutions across Under Armour's digital ecosystem, with a primary focus on modern web front-end experiences and supporting backend services and integrations.
• Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React, Next.js, and modern frontend technologies, leveraging both Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Client-Side Rendering (CSR) patterns.
• Design and implement personalized customer experiences powered by Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP), including content targeting, product recommendations, customer journeys, and loyalty engagement capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership for frontend architecture, analytics implementation, coding standards, and engineering best practices to ensure scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions.
• Partner with Product, UX, Marketing, Loyalty, Analytics, and Engineering teams to translate business objectives into customer-centric digital experiences that drive engagement, retention, and conversion.
• Collaborate with backend and platform teams to define APIs, event-driven architectures, data contracts, and integration patterns that enable real-time personalization and seamless customer experiences across channels.
• Develop and support integrations between ecommerce platforms, Salesforce MCP, loyalty platforms, customer data solutions, CMS platforms, and third-party services to enable personalized and connected customer journeys.
• Execute the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization of digital experiences.
• Drive technical discovery and solution design in ambiguous problem spaces by evaluating trade-offs, defining execution plans, and delivering scalable solutions aligned with business and customer needs.
• Mentor engineers and provide leadership during production support and incident management, driving root-cause analysis, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of personalization and loyalty platforms, including participation in periodic on-call support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience OR typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree
• 8+ years of experience in full stack software development with a strong emphasis on frontend engineering and customer-facing digital experiences.

Deep expertise in modern web development technologies, including:

• React and Next.js
• Typescript and Javascript
• HTML5, CSS3 and SCSS
• Responsive and accessible web design principles
• Strong understanding of Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Client-Side Rendering (CSR) architectures, including performance optimization, SEO considerations, and user experience best practices.

Comfortable working across the full technology stack, with experience designing and integrating:

• Rest and GraphQL APIs
• Node.js services and microservices
• Caching strategies and performance optimization
• CI/CD pipeplines and modern DevOps practices
• Proven ability to translate product, business, and UX requirements into scalable technical solutions and modern frontend architectures.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with Product Management, UX Design, Analytics, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
• Preferred: Experience building scalable ecommerce and personalization solutions that integrate frontend applications with backend services and third-party platforms.
• Required: Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and implementation strategies.

WORKPLACE LOCATION:

• Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our UA India office.
• Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
