Lead Software Engineer (TypeScript | React | Node.js | AWS Serverless)

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in TypeScript, React, Node.js, and AWS Serverless architecture to design, develop, and scale high-performance web applications.

You'll be a hands-on technologist who balances architectural vision with practical implementation leading technical decisions, mentoring developers, and ensuring code quality across frontend and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver robust technical solutions.
  • Define and review technical requirements for clarity and feasibility.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
  • Build and maintain AWS Serverless infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront).
  • Develop APIs, middleware (auth, caching, feature flags), and schema-first systems.
  • Work with DynamoDB and relational databases using Liquibase migrations.
  • Enforce code quality through reviews, testing (Vitest, Playwright), and automation.
  • Mentor and support junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and promote best engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack development with strong TypeScript & JavaScript expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of React (TSX), state management, and component-driven UI design.
  • Experience with Vite, Vitest, Playwright, and workspace configurations.
  • Proven record designing serverless backends on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront).
  • Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi with TypeScript) and environment management.
  • Familiarity with authentication/authorization, SSO, SAML, and OAuth.
  • Experience with automated testing, Git workflows, and code review best practices.
  • Comfortable collaborating with design teams (e.g., Figma) and applying UX/HCI principles.
