Job Description

FactSet is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to contribute to both the Cloud & Managed Services initiative and a batch processing application called Cornerstone, specifically in the area of Client Environments. With Client Environments, DS is building cloud-based and scheduling solutions that allow users to more easily consume the FactSet and Provider Marketplace feeds, with the goal of providing a frictionless experience that empowers clients to focus on their core competencies rather than data management. Current offerings include Data Exploration, Managed Database Services, Snowflake integration, and Databricks, all of which represent areas of potential significant growth in feed sales.

The Lead Software Engineer must have strong experience in system design, programming, and cloud-native development. The role requires deep knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), including schema modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning. Proven expertise in integrating with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or other datalake platforms is mandatory. The candidate should be able to build scalable, distributed data solutions that leverage cloud infrastructure and enable seamless access to data for clients.

  • Balance stability and innovation in operational areas related to databases,
  • runtime, on-call support, and deployment procedures
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding project status, challenges and
  • obstacles.

What We're Looking For

  • Candidate Should have 8+ years experience in Data Engineering.
  • Proven experience in system design for large-scale, distributed systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, AWS, Snowflake/Databricks and/or Go preferred programming
  • Strong experience with cloud-native application development and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Deep knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Hands-on expertise with modern datalake and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or similar
  • Experience in batch and/or real-time data processing applications
  • Collaborative track record with cross-functional teams on complex projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong pragmatic, iterative approach to problem solving and prototyping
  • Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development best practices
  • Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and architecture decision-making
  • B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college/university
