About the role:

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java + React) to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of hands-on experience spanning both robust Java Spring Boot backend systems and modern React frontend development — with the technical depth and leadership presence to guide a team through complex, cross-cutting challenges. You are someone who can zoom out to shape architecture decisions and zoom in to deliver production-ready code, all while keeping business goals in focus. You thrive in ambiguity, take end-to-end ownership, and set the engineering bar for those around you. You also bring a forward-thinking mindset — actively embracing AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as tools that make you and your team measurably more effective. You will partner closely with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to lead the design, development, and delivery of high-performance, full-stack platform capabilities.

In This Role, You Will:

• Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of full-stack features, spanning scalable Java Spring Boot microservices on the backend and responsive React applications on the frontend.
• Drive architectural decisions across distributed systems — applying service decomposition, REST-based inter-service communication, resilience patterns, and frontend component architecture to build cohesive, maintainable platforms.
• Build and optimize modern React applications with a focus on component reusability, state management, API integration, and frontend performance at scale.
• Leverage Redis for high-performance caching, session management, and distributed data patterns including pub/sub, sorted sets, and TTL strategies.
• Develop and tune Oracle Database schemas, queries, and stored procedures to support high-throughput, mission-critical data workloads.
• Architect and operate cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Actively use AI coding assistants (such as Claude by Anthropic) as a force multiplier — accelerating development velocity, improving code quality, generating tests, and exploring architectural approaches faster.
• Champion agentic development workflows — integrating AI-assisted code review, test generation, and documentation into the team's everyday engineering practices.
• Mentor and technically guide engineers on the team, elevating code quality, design thinking, and engineering culture through hands-on involvement and thoughtful feedback.
• Own the full delivery lifecycle — from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support — with minimal oversight and maximum accountability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized services, ensuring reliable, predictable releases and a healthy engineering delivery cadence.
• Act as a bridge between technical complexity and business priorities — translating ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable engineering plans and communicating progress and trade-offs effectively to stakeholders.

Here's What You Need:

Primary Skills:

• 8+ years of backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Java Spring Boot for building distributed microservices — including service decomposition, inter-service communication (REST), and resilience patterns
• Strong experience with React for building modern, responsive frontend applications — including component-based architecture, state management, API integration, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Redis for caching, session management, and distributed data patterns (pub/sub, sorted sets, TTL strategies)
• Proficiency with Oracle Database — schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native architectures
• Hands-on experience with Claude (Anthropic) or comparable AI coding assistants — using them to accelerate development, debug code, and explore solutions faster
• Familiarity with agentic development workflows — AI-assisted code review, test generation, or documentation — as part of a modern engineering productivity stack
• Experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems
• Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization
• Strong ownership mindset — able to independently drive features from design to production

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or Terraform
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g. Kafka, Pub/Sub)
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, Cloud Monitoring)
• Exposure to agile development methodologies
• Experience building or integrating LLM-powered features, AI pipelines, or developer tooling new
• Familiarity with enterprise application servers — WebLogic and Tomcat — including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning in production environments
