We are looking for a highly capable Engineering Lead who can take ownership of backend engineering, guide architectural decisions, mentor developers, and help scale the platform as we grow.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Own the overall backend architecture and technical roadmap.

• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.

• Drive engineering best practices across the development team.

• Review designs, code, and architectural decisions.

• Identify and reduce technical debt.

Hands-On Development

• Write high-quality production code.

• Lead implementation of complex backend modules.

• Participate in debugging, performance optimization, and system reliability initiatives.

• Build APIs, integrations, workflows, and core platform services.

Team Management

• Mentor and guide backend developers.

• Conduct code reviews and technical reviews.

• Improve engineering processes and delivery predictability.

• Help developers unblock issues and maintain engineering quality standards.

Scalability & Platform Growth

• Design systems capable of supporting significant growth in users, data, and transactions.

• Improve application performance, security, reliability, and observability.

• Drive decisions around infrastructure, architecture, databases, caching, queues, and distributed systems.

Requirements

Must Have

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.

• 3+ years leading engineering teams.

• Strong expertise in Node.js and backend development.

• Experience designing and scaling SaaS platforms.

• Strong understanding of:

• System Design
• Distributed Systems
• Database Design
• Caching Strategies
• Message Queues
• API Design
• Security Best Practices
• • Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers.
• • Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset.

Good to Have

• Experience with React and TypeScript.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.

• Experience working in high-growth startups.

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
