Job Description
Role: Lead service engineer (Electric locomotive)
Department: Engineering.
Location: Gurugram India.
Experience: Minimum 7+ years in the railway industry, including experience in Electrical Locomotives, Metro/MEMU/EMU traction converter reliability management, troubleshooting, field service, maintenance, and service management.
Job Summary
As a Lead Service Engineer, you will oversee technical support and service activities for CAF Power & Automation's railway traction converter and control systems across India. This role involves managing a partner service team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and coordinating with various internal teams and clients for project success. The candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment and will be responsible for maintaining quality, timely delivery, and technical coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities and Challenges
ؠServe as the technical lead for all field service activities across projects in India.
ؠCoordinate with local and international teams to ensure efficient service and maintenance operations.
ؠOversee the planning, management, and execution of tasks according to project timelines and quality standards.
ؠManage technical service calls from the After Sales team for CAF P&A projects in India.
ؠAct as the primary technical contact for local customer service issues.
ؠCollaborate with CAF P&A's India & Spain teams across projects.
ؠCoordinate with the Field Service team, After Sales Managers, and team members.
ؠWork with the Service Manager to define procedures and tools for use in Indian projects.
ؠAct as the accountable contact person for CAF P&A partners and end customers related to technical service support and issue resolution.
ؠEnsure customer satisfaction through timely service delivery and adherence to quality norms.
ؠGenerate detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D reports.
ؠLead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
ؠSupport warranty analysis and technical investigations of recurring failures in traction systems or electronic components.
ؠPrepare and present reliability reports, KPIs, and dashboards to management.
Qualifications / Candidate Requirements/ Experience / Skills.
ؠBachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering field.
ؠMinimum 7+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, and service management roles, ideally in the railway industry.
ؠMinimum 34 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in railway electrical locomotives, EMUs, or Metro systems.
ؠStrong knowledge of railway traction systems, control systems, software configuration, and testing.
ؠProficiency in software configuration management.
ؠGood understanding of electrical diagrams, validation, and testing procedures.
ؠProven experience in handling all responsibilities of a Field Service Engineer in railway projects.
ؠDemonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, commitment, result orientation, and customer focus.
ؠSelfmotivated professionals with excellent presentation, communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
ؠFluent in English and proficient with MS Office tools and project/reliability management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, MS Project).
ؠWillingness to travel within India and abroad. A valid passport is mandatory.
