Job Description

Hiring for a B2B Service Based Company

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead AWS Solutions Architect to own and run our AWS practice end-to-

end. This is not a pure design-only architect role — you will be the single point of accountability for

the entire AWS business line, from the first customer conversation through solutioning, estimation,

implementation, migration, and post-go-live support. You will also lead and mentor the AWS

delivery team and represent us as the primary technical contact in our capacity as an AWS

Partner.

This role suits someone who has been an individual contributor architect, has led

migrations/implementations end-to-end, and is ready to take ownership of a full practice — people,

process, delivery quality, and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

Lead initial discovery calls with prospective and existing customers to understand business

needs, current infrastructure, and cloud goals.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and cloud strategy.

Prepare Statements of Work (SOW), Level of Effort (LOE), and cost estimates for AWS

projects (migration, greenfield builds, modernization, managed services).

Own the proposal and pitch process for AWS engagements, including RFP/RFI responses.

2. Architecture & Solutioning

Design secure, scalable, cost-optimized AWS architectures (Well-Architected Framework

aligned) across compute, storage, networking, database, containers, serverless, and

security domains.

Create architecture diagrams, HLD/LLD documents, and migration/implementation plans.

Evaluate and recommend the right mix of AWS services for a given use case (cost vs.

performance vs. complexity trade-offs).

Conduct architecture reviews and Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFR) for

existing customer workloads.

3. Migration & Implementation

Plan and execute cloud migrations (rehost, replatform, refactor) using AWS-native and

third-party tools (e.g., AWS MGN, DMS, Migration Hub).

Lead implementation of new AWS environments — landing zones, networking (VPC, Direct

Connect, Transit Gateway), IAM, security baseline, CI/CD pipelines, and workload

deployment.

Ensure infrastructure is built using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation /

CDK) and follows DevOps best practices.

Own project delivery timelines, technical risk management, and quality of implementation.

4. Operations, Support & Escalation Management

Act as the final technical escalation point for critical/complex issues raised by customers or

internal team members.

Define and oversee incident management, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and post-mortem

processes for AWS-managed environments.

Set up and refine monitoring, alerting, cost governance, and security compliance practices

across managed AWS accounts.

Own SLAs for support/managed services engagements.

5. AWS Partnership & Practice Management

Own and maintain our organization's AWS Partner relationship — partner tier requirements,

certifications, competencies, and partner funding/programs (MAP, POA, etc., where

applicable).

Track and help the organization achieve/maintain AWS Partner competencies (e.g.,

Migration, DevOps, Well-Architected).

Liaise with AWS Partner Development Manager (PDM) / AWS account teams for co-sell

opportunities, funding programs, and technical enablement.

Keep the practice updated on new AWS services, pricing changes, and best practices.

6. Team Leadership

Build, lead, and mentor the AWS engineering/architecture team (Cloud Engineers, DevOps

Engineers, Support Engineers).

Define technical standards, coding/IaC guidelines, and delivery methodology for the AWS

practice.

Conduct technical interviews and contribute to hiring for the AWS team.

Own resource planning and capacity allocation across ongoing customer engagements.
