The Impact you will have in this role:

The Lead Scrum Master is a key member of a development squad with a well-defined software development life cycle process. The Lead Scrum Master applies a broad technical knowledge of the Agile methodology to manage the scrum process with geographically dispersed teams to deliver exceptional standards in product quality and timely, predictable delivery of projects. The Lead Scrum Master oversees cross functional coordination and communication, requirements traceability, release management, test case management, and defect tracking concerns to keep delivery on track.

The IT FinSight Delivery department supports the development & testing needs of multiple DTCC core business lines including FICC, Clearing & Settlement, Equity Clearing, Wealth Management, Treasury Clearing etc. The Scrum Master is responsible forfacilitating and coaching who guides a cross-functional team in using the Scrum framework for software development within an Agile environment.They ensure the team follows Scrum principles and practices, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment for delivering high-quality products.The Scrum Master is an authority who empowers the team to be successful within the Scrum framework, focusing on efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. They will be responsible for the following:

Facilitation and Coaching:

The Scrum Master facilitates Scrum events (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and coaches the team on Scrum principles and practices.

Obstacle Removal:

They identify and remove impediments or obstacles that hinder the team's progress, ensuring they can focus on delivering work.

Communication and Collaboration:

The Scrum Master facilitates effective communication and collaboration both within the team and with external stakeholders.

Product Backlog Management:

They work with theProduct Ownerto prioritize and manage theproduct backlog,ensuring the team is working on the most valuable items.

Continuous Improvement:

They encourage and support continuous improvement within the team through retrospective meetings and other feedback mechanisms.

Team Development:

The Scrum Master fosters a high-performing team by promoting a collaborative and self-organizing culture.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Possess agile knowledge and expertise on tools, ceremonies, and practices.
  • Facilitate all required agile ceremonies, including but not limited to stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with product owners to prioritize the backlog and define clear user stories.
  • Managing and delivering projects to specifications using a defined development process and delivering within budget and timeline
  • Mentor and coach team members on agile practices and principles.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between the scrum team and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Develop and manage an integrated project roadmap, tracking key achievements, dependencies, and critical paths.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Experience in Agile Development, with Scrum Master (or similar) experience
  • Previous software development lifecycle experience
  • Scrum Master certification a plus
