Job Profile:
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented finance professional to join the Controllership team, responsible for managing the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) function. This role will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality financial reporting, strengthening governance and internal controls, and supporting compliance requirements for a listed entity.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise (Ind AS), hands-on experience in financial close processes, and the ability to drive process improvements and automation initiatives. This position offers significant exposure to leadership, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Period Close
- Manage the end-to-end R2R cycle including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Ensure timely closure of books with high accuracy and adherence to defined timelines
- Prepare and review standalone and consolidated financial statements in compliance with Ind AS
- Analyse financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights to management
- Prepare schedules and disclosures for statutory reporting and investor communication
- Support preparation of earnings releases, board materials, and investor presentations
2. Controllership & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with SEBI (LODR) regulations, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements applicable to listed entities
- Design, implement, and monitor Internal Financial Controls (IFC) to ensure robustness of financial reporting
- Track and ensure timely filing of financial statements and disclosures with regulatory authorities
- Coordinate with legal, secretarial, and compliance teams for governance-related deliverables
3. General Ledger & Accounting Operations
- Oversee general ledger integrity including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of balance sheet accounts through periodic reconciliation and review
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations across entities
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all accounting entries
- Drive accounting standardization and best practices across processes
4. Audit & Governance
- Lead and manage statutory, internal, and tax audits, ensuring timely closure and minimal audit observations
- Act as a key point of contact for auditors and provide required data, schedules, and explanations
- Support Audit Committee and Board reporting requirements, including preparation of audit-related materials
- Track audit findings and drive remediation actions
5. Technical Accounting
- Interpret and implement new accounting standards and amendments under Ind AS
- Evaluate complex business transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments) and assess accounting implications
- Draft internal accounting memos and position papers for management and auditors
- Provide guidance to business and finance teams on accounting treatments
6. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses within the R2R cycle
- Drive automation initiatives using ERP capabilities and emerging technologies (including AI tools)
- Improve close timelines through process re-engineering and standardization
- Lead and support in implementation of Reporting tool
Skills and Expertise Required:
- Strong technical knowledge of Ind AS and financial reporting frameworks
- Solid understanding of SEBI regulations, Companies Act, and corporate governance
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite / Oracle preferred)
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and automation
- Prior experience in a listed company, Big 6 firm, or retail/consumer-facing industry
- Exposure to consolidation, group reporting, and multi-entity structures
- Experience in handling investor reporting and board-level deliverables
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and automation frameworks
