Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on QA leader to own quality across our products. You'll set the QA strategy, build and scale our automation and testing infrastructure, and lead a growing team — while staying close enough to the work to dig into a tricky bug yourself. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to define how quality is done, not just execute test cases.

Strategy & Process

• Own the QA function end-to-end across all products and ensure high-quality, on-time releases
• Define, implement, and continuously improve QA processes, standards, and best practices
• Build comprehensive test strategies spanning both manual and automated testing

Execution

• Drive automation initiatives and expand test coverage for critical workflows
• Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks and testing infrastructure
• Identify, track, and manage defects across the full software development lifecycle
• Validate UI and application behavior across browsers, devices, and operating systems
• Run SQL/database validation as part of the testing process

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as the primary point of contact for all QA activities across projects
• Mentor and guide QA engineers, and help hire and scale the team
• Partner closely with engineering, product, and support through feature development and release
• Coordinate external vendors or contract testers when needed
• Monitor QA metrics and continuously improve testing efficiency and product quality
• Participate in sprint planning, release planning, and production-readiness reviews

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years in QA with strong hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing
• Prior experience leading QA teams or owning end-to-end QA processes
• Solid grasp of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and QA best practices
• Proven experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems
• Strong SQL skills and comfort with database validation
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
