Job Description

Title: Senior QE

Experience: 8+ yrs

Location: Remote

Shift timing: 3:30PM to 11:30PM IST

Note: 60 % capacity towards Functional testing, 40% towards Overseeing the entire QE process at the Program Level, setting standards, strategy, and aligningtiming of deliverables across projects.

Technical Skills (Hands-on Perspective):

  • Full-Stack QA: The candidate must be a Full Stack QA with data experience, as there will be areas where they will work on the API and UI in addition to the data.
  • Experience: The client is looking for a candidate with a minimum of 8 years of experience vs. 5 years.
  • ETL & SQL Experience: ETL QA is a core requirement, and they need a candidate with SQL experience. He clarified that there is no data warehouse, only multiple data feeds and data pools.
  • DevOps: Azure Cloud and CI/CD/DevOps concepts are key. They need to understand how deployment is done and how code gets migrated from one environment to another.
  • Automation & APIs: Automation and API testing are still important. The team is open to Playwright if the candidate is not proficient in Selenium.
  • Willingness to Learn: He is fine with candidates who have a basic understanding and knowledge of data but who are able to learn on the job.

Skills:

Technical Expertise:

  • Automation Frameworks: Proficiency in building and managing test automation frameworks
  • Programing Languages: Strong coding skills
  • Gherkins is Mandatory.
  • API testing: Experience with API testing and tools like Postman, ReadyAPI
  • CI/CD :Knowledge of CI/CD processes, ADO and how to integrate Automated testing with pipelines

Test Strategy and Planning

  • Test planning: Ability to define, develop, and execute a comprehensive test strategy and test plan.
  • Risk Assessment: Strong skills in identifying and prioritizing risks within SDLC to focus testing efforts effectively.
  • Defect Management : Experience in managing defect lifecycles, triaging issues, and tools like Jira

Leadership and Communication

  • Test Leadership: Proven experience in leading strategy for large scale programs; setting clear objectives, defining deliverables with due dates, and ensuring strict adherence to established project timeline
  • Stakeholder communication: Strong communication skills to present test metrics, quality status, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with Product management, development , and operations to align testing with Business Objectives.

Quality Mindset and Process Improvement :

  • Quality Processes: Deep Understanding of quality standards and practices, such as shift left testing, TDD and BDD
  • Built-In-Quality Approach: Knowledge of implementing built-in-Quality by embedding QA practices throughout the SDLC rather than add-in quality
  • Continuous Improvement: Skills in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Root Cause Analysis: ability to conduct RCA for complex issues, identifying improvements in the testing process
  • Data Analysis: Skills in analyzing test data and KPI's to assess product quality and measure QE effectiveness

Agile Methodology Proficiency

  • Agile Testing: Familiarity with agile testing methods, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and scrum ceremonies
  • Test Driven Development (TDD): Knowledge of TDD and BDD to drive collaboration and increase test coverage
  • Tools Knowledge : Experience with tools supporting agile processes like Jira, confluence, Qmetry, Eazy BI
