Job Description: Lead - Projects (Dark Store/Warehouse Layout & BOQ)
This is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and execution planning of new dark store and warehouse infrastructure, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
. Strategic Layout Design and Optimization: . Lead the comprehensive design and development of all dark store and warehouse physical layouts, focusing on achieving optimal space utilization, product flow, storage density, and overall operational efficiency. . Utilize advanced simulation and modeling techniques to validate layout proposals and identify areas for improvement before physical implementation. . Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, fire, and structural regulations. . Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Management: . Prepare highly detailed and accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on the finalized layout designs, covering all civil, mechanical, electrical, and racking/material handling components. . Manage the BOQ approval process, working closely with finance and procurement teams to ensure cost transparency and adherence to project budgets. . Conduct value engineering exercises to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or operational integrity. . Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: . Serve as the primary liaison between the Projects team and critical cross-functional departments, including Operations (to understand flow requirements), Construction (for build feasibility), and Procurement (for material sourcing and costing). . Ensure all layout and BOQ deliverables are rigorously aligned with specific business requirements, volume forecasts, and long-term strategic growth plans. . Proactively manage timelines, project budgets, and stakeholder expectations throughout the entire design and pre-construction phase. . Process Improvement and Standardization: . Drive a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and refining existing layout designs, design standards, and the BOQ preparation process. .
