The Mehta Family Foundation is seeking a dynamic, science-trained Project Manager to lead various initiatives related to collaborations, research, events, and capacity building in Indian higher education.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between US-based scientific experts and Indian universities, research institutes, and government stakeholders
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with faculty, administration, policy makers, and student researchers across India's higher education ecosystem
- Translate complex scientific concepts and program goals across diverse disciplines and institutional cultures
- Coordinate various initiatives managing timelines, communications, and stakeholder expectations across geographies
- Think critically when planning to assure project success
- Prepare reports, briefings, and communications that distill scientific and programmatic progress for diverse audiences
- Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and help company expand
- Maintain existing business
Qualifications
- PhD in applied sciences
- 8-10 years prior management experience in education
- Understanding of India's higher education and research landscape
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: extrovert who thrives on building relationships and navigating diverse stakeholder environments
- Ability to communicate across disciplines: can talk genomics with biologists and materials science with engineers in the same afternoon
- Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies
- Focused and goal-oriented
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Hindi or regional languages a plus
