Description
Role Overview :
As the
Lead Product Design, you will be the guardian of ShopDecks user experience and visual identity. This is a
Player-Coach role : you will lead and mentor a team of designers while staying deeply involved in the architectural foundations of our product. You will report directly to the leadership team and act as the bridge between business strategy and high-fidelity execution across the entire UI/UX lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Strategy & Thinking : Lead end-to-end design sprints. You will turn ambiguous business goals into clear, user-centric problem statements and measurable KPI targets.
- Aesthetic Leadership : Raise the visual bar. We are looking for high-craft interfaces that are not just functional but beautiful, intentional, and premium.
- Token-Based Systems : Architect and own our Design System (Tokens/Variables). You will ensure that our visual language is scalable across web and mobile, allowing for seamless handoffs and rapid iteration.
- Managerial Track : Mentor junior and senior designers, conduct design reviews, and foster a culture of Craft and Candor. You will define the design hiring roadmap and team culture as we scale.
- Cross-Functional Bridge : Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to ensure design specs are implemented with 1 :1 precision, leveraging your knowledge of front-end constraints.
Required Skillset
- Education : Bachelors or Masters in Design from a Tier-1 institute (NID, IIT-IDC, NIFT, or Srishti Manipal).
- Visual & Experience Mastery : A portfolio that stands out for its aesthetic appeal and logical rigor. You have a master-level understanding of typography, grids, layout, motion, and information architecture.
- Systems Thinker : Deep foundational knowledge of token-based design systems. You understand how to manage design variables for color, spacing, and typography across complex SaaS surfaces.
- Product Maturity : 6-10 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership/managerial capacity within a product-led company.
- Tech-Forward : Expert-level Figma skills (Variables, Prototyping) and a habit of using AI tools to optimize your team's workflow.
What We Value
- Craft : You care about the 4px vs 8px spacing and the subtle feel of a transition.
- Logic (UX) : You care about the friction in a merchant's flow and the clarity of the journey.
- Aesthetics (UI) : You believe that a beautiful interface builds trust and merchant confidence.
- Scale : You build systems, not just screens. You think about 10,000 merchants, not 1.
- Ownership : You act like a founder. If you see a friction point, you fix it without being asked.
