Job Description

Role Overview:

The Lead – Origination is responsible for driving origination, structuring, and execution of mid & large-ticket Structured finance / Private Credit corporate deals. This role oversees end-to-end cycle—from deal sourcing and credit evaluation to execution —ensuring optimal risk-adjusted returns and strategic collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and originate mid & large corporate structured finance deals across various industries and corporate clients.
  • Build and nurture relationships with financial sponsors, corporate groups, institutional investors, and family offices.
  • Lead structuring of NCD/loan deals, including terms negotiation, credit assessment, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal credit, legal, risk, tax, and compliance teams.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with internal teams for large Structured Finance deals to ensure smooth deal execution.
  • Provide actionable market insights and investor feedback to support deal structuring and pricing decisions.
  • Produce and present deal pipelines, performance metrics, and strategic updates for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, or equivalent.
  • 10–12 years of experience in corporate finance, structured lending, private credit or debt capital markets origination
  • Demonstrated track record of leading private credit deals across sectors.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, credit structuring, term negotiation, and legal documentation.
  • Proven relationship-building capabilities with corporate and institutional investors.

  • Loan structuring and documentation expertise.
  • Proficient in preparation of deal/investor presentation materials and pitch books.

  • Strong stakeholder management: internal and external.
  • Superior negotiation, attention to detail, and prioritization capabilities.

Market Awareness-

  • Up-to-date knowledge of corporate debt, AIF / NBFC market, syndication trends, and risk-return dynamics.
  • Ability to translate market intelligence into strategic origination insights.

Leadership & Execution-

  • Capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating complex deals.
  • Project and task management across deal lifecycle and internal teams.

Performance Metrics:

  • Direct origination and closures.
  • Fee income across transactions.
  • Quality of underwriting and portfolio performance.
  • Effectiveness of Structuring advice and syndicate coordination.
  • Timeliness and quality of internal/external reporting.
