Job Description

Splunk administration

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement observability solutions to capture, analyze, and visualize application telemetry.
  • Drive performance engineering initiatives and define measurable performance indicators.
  • Design Splunk-based observability architecture including ingestion pipelines and indexing strategies.
  • Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to enable proactive incident detection and response.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate observability into application and platform development workflows.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis using observability data.
  • (Nice-to-have) Manage Splunk administration activities to ensure platform stability and performance.
  • Continuously enhance observability coverage and improve monitoring effectiveness.

Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in observability practices including metrics, logs, and traces for distributed systems.
  • Proven expertise in performance engineering, including defining performance benchmarks and optimization strategies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing observability solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Splunk architecture including data ingestion, indexing, and monitoring strategies.
  • Ability to design scalable monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
  • Experience in correlating telemetry data to support root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Familiarity with application performance monitoring (APM) tools and practices.
  • Understanding of cloud and microservices-based architectures for observability integration.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed observability into workflows.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostics in complex distributed environments.
  • (Nice-to-have) Experience in Splunk administration including configuration and platform maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and reporting.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
