Job Title: Network Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of LAN, WAN, and data center networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Manage IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
  • Ensure network security through firewall rules, VPNs, and access controls
  • Perform network capacity planning and upgrades
  • Support data center and cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP basics)
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)
  • Handle incident, problem, and change management as per ITIL processes
  • Collaborate with security, server, and application teams
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
  • Ensure SLA compliance and high network uptime

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 8 years of experience in network infrastructure/support
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience with Cisco/Juniper/Aruba networking devices
  • Good understanding of routing & switching concepts
  • Knowledge of firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, etc.)
  • Familiarity with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications like CCNA / CCNP or equivalent
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies
  • Basic scripting (Python, Bash) for automation
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid environments
  • Experience with network security best practices
