Job Description

About the Role:

The Lead – Sales (Hybrid / Solar) will be responsible for supporting and driving sales and order inflow for Solar and Solar‑led Hybrid renewable energy projects, with primary focus on utility‑scale and large C&I solar projects, including solar‑wind and solar‑storage hybrid solutions.

The role is hands‑on, execution‑oriented and customer‑facing, focused on opportunity development, bid support, customer coordination and deal execution, working closely with the Head – Sales and internal engineering, projects, finance and legal teams to deliver commercially viable and technically bankable solutions.

Candidates with relevant experience in solar EPC sales, module‑linked solutions and project‑based contracting will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solar & Hybrid Sales Execution

  • Support order inflow for Solar and Solar‑led Hybrid (Solar‑Wind / Solar‑Storage) projects.
  • Manage assigned sales opportunities across utility‑scale, IPP and large C&I customers.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of bids and tenders for SECI, state utilities and corporate solar programs.
  • Track opportunities and support timely movement from RFQ to order closure.

2. Customer & Account Management

  • Support relationship management with existing and prospective solar / hybrid customers.
  • Act as day‑to‑day SPOC for customers during the sales and pre‑contracting phase.
  • Coordinate customer interactions, clarifications, meetings and follow‑ups.
  • Support repeat business and portfolio‑based opportunities under guidance of senior leadership.

3. Deal Management & Commercial Support

  • Support end‑to‑end sales cycles including lead qualification, proposal development, negotiation support and contract finalisation.
  • Assist in commercial discussions related to EPC scope, module supply, balance‑of‑plant and hybrid configurations.
  • Ensure proposals align with approved pricing, margins and risk frameworks.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and documentation as per governance requirements.

4. Solar Module & Solution Understanding

  • Leverage understanding of solar module technologies, configurations and performance parameters.
  • Support customers with module selection rationale, pricing discussions and performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with procurement and technical teams on module sourcing, warranties and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in techno‑commercial solution alignment for solar and hybrid offerings.

5. Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, projects, finance, procurement and legal teams during bid preparation and contract closure.
  • Support smooth handover from sales to execution post order award.
  • Assist in resolution of commercial or scope‑related issues during execution, as required.

6. Reporting & Governance

  • Provide regular updates on deal status, risks and expected closures to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal approval processes and documentation standards.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Total experience: 10–12 years
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in Solar EPC / Solar module‑linked project sales
  • Exposure to utility‑scale solar and/or large C&I solar projects
  • Working knowledge of solar module technologies, pricing, warranties and supply considerations
  • Exposure to hybrid project sales (solar‑wind / solar‑storage) is an advantage
  • Experience supporting contract negotiations and project‑based sales
  • Strong customer handling, coordination and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to work effectively with technical, commercial and project teams

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Energy preferred)
  • MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage
