About The Role
To support Business Partners in the US and Canada with Commercial Real Estate (CRE) mortgage annual servicing, portfolio monitoring, credit review and underwriting. The role is responsible for reviewing complex CRE collateral, including rent rolls, operating statements, budgets, borrower/guarantor financials, lease abstracts and loan documents. The candidate will perform loan review analysis covering property performance, credit risk, rating implications, market positioning, borrower strength and loan-level monitoring. The role requires strong analytical judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to create efficient Excel-based templates and review tools that improve the annual loan review and underwriting process.
What will you do
- Perform annual reviews and underwriting support for Commercial Real Estate mortgage loans across various property types.
- Conduct complex rent roll analysis including tenant mix, occupancy, reimbursement structures and lease risk.
- Analyze detailed property's cash flow statements to assess NOI, DSCR, LTV, operating performance, expense trends, capital expenditures, recurring/non-recurring adjustments and year-over-year variances.
- Conduct credit risk assessments and portfolio monitoring, including loan performance analysis.
- Prepare concise annual review summaries, borrower write-ups and underwriting recommendations for Business Partner review.
- Review and abstract complex commercial leases, including base rent, escalations, recovery structure, renewal/termination options, and other special provisions / clauses.
- Prepare borrower and guarantor financial analysis, including liquidity, net worth, repayment capacity and sponsorship strength.
- Create, maintain and enhance Excel-based underwriting and annual review templates using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, formulas and financial modeling techniques.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and standardization to improve efficiency, consistency and quality.
- Manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy, quality and turnaround timelines.
- Develop strong working relationships with Business Partners and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Education, Required Skills And Competencies
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Commerce or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate underwriting and related role.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Real Estate related concepts.
- Excel proficiency - ability to create, manipulate and interpret data/spreadsheets; comfortable working with formulas, vlookups, pivot tables and macros a plus.
- Ability to review, analyze and abstract complex commercial leases, amendments and loan documentation.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
