About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Mobile Engineer to spearhead the development of VWO's Mobile Insights and Feature Experimentation products.

This is a high-impact role that blends technical expertise, leadership, and product thinking. You'll lead a talented mobile engineering team, collaborate closely with product, backend, SDK, and AI teams, and deliver features that help customers gain behavioral insights and run experiments seamlessly across mobile platforms.

You'll also play a key role in shaping our open-source SDK ecosystem, ensuring exceptional code quality, developer experience, and maintainability across iOS, Android, and cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter).

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing mobile engineering team.
• Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to define technical and product roadmaps.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of high-impact features — from ideation to production.
• Maintain alignment with company-wide engineering standards and practices.
• Conduct 1:1s, code reviews, and design discussions to foster technical excellence and ownership.

Architecture & Development

• Architect, design, and implement scalable, high-performance mobile SDKs and applications for Android and iOS.
• Define coding standards, best practices, and CI/CD pipelines for SDK releases.
• Stay hands-on — lead architectural decisions, critical reviews, and deployments.
• Build systems that are resilient, easy to integrate, and deliver outstanding developer experience.
• Collaborate with backend and AI teams to enable data-driven insights, personalization, and experimentation capabilities.

Open Source & Quality

• Maintain and enhance open-source SDK repositories with high-quality contributions.
• Manage community interactions — reviewing pull requests, documentation, and issues.
• Champion open-source best practices, CI/CD automation, and semantic versioning.

Innovation & Experimentation

• Partner with AI and experimentation teams to introduce AI-driven mobile insights and experiences.
• Stay current with emerging trends in mobile development, SDK design, and developer experience tooling.
• Continuously improve SDK performance, usability, and integration workflows based on feedback and analytics.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in mobile app and SDK development, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise in native Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development.
• Deep understanding of mobile SDK architecture, integration lifecycles, and developer experience optimization.
• Proven track record of architecting and shipping complex, scalable mobile solutions.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and performance monitoring for mobile.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
• Experience maintaining or contributing to open-source projects.

Good to Have

• Exposure to React Native and Flutter ecosystems.
• Experience with feature experimentation, A/B testing, or analytics SDKs.
• Understanding of AI-driven development, on-device ML, or AI-assisted mobile experiences.
• Familiarity with SDK observability, versioning, and backward compatibility strategies.
• Prior experience in a developer tools / SDK / B2B SaaS company.
