Roles and Responsibilities:
As part of the R&D team, the employee should be able to perform following duties to support the team's goals but not limited to the following:
- Ensure all mechanical engineering activities are planned & executed as per the development procedure.
- Responsible for leading / participating / supporting following product development activities Concept, planning, design development & execution stages of new products.
- Work closely with Industrial design, Electrical, Marketing and cross functional teams in designing & developing medical products from system level perspective.
- Research design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility.
- Evaluate researched options from various aspects (manufacturability, usability, ID, DFMEA, cost) & enable cross- functional teams to take decisions on concept directions.
- Conduct & actively participate in Design reviews.
- Prototyping and Testing
- Design Verification- Part & mechanical system level verification.
- Production documentation support.
- Pre-production, Pilot and Production support.
- Assist in project planning and provide technical inputs to leadership in project execution.
- As a member of multiple cross-functional teams, be able to work on product requirements, design specifications and design descriptions for assigned projects, as required by applicable medical device standards and internal procedures.
- Interact with global and internal design and manufacturing teams to design for manufacturability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Essential QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design (Mechanical) with 6-10 years and worked in complete cycle of Product Design and Development.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
- Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (Ex: Medical devices, Consumer appliances)
- Able to work independently & experience with working in cross functional teams.
- Experience in working in designs for various manufacturing technologies including plastic injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.
- Experience in selection of materials & various finishing processes.
- Design calculation and optimization for component & system level, strong foundation and working knowledge in GD & T & stack up analysis.
- Exposure to solving thermal management within the device and successfully handled thermal problems in the projects.
- Experience with rapid prototype and different prototyping techniques for building proof of concept and Functional prototype for testing.
- Good analytical skills in problem solving, identify the technical risk and mitigating them systematically.
- Able to work in new areas and propose solutions to the problems related to system level that not confined to only mechanical stream.
- Hands on Experience with CAD software's like Solid works with exposure to surface modelling, skeleton model/Master model concept.

- Medical devices product development experience will be an added advantage.
- Experience with Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, Design controls or similar regulatory environment and QMS will be an added advantage.
