As a Lead Engineer - Mechanical Design you will be executing all aspects of requisition engineering associated with Gas turbine & Centrifugal compressor auxiliaries in the Mechanical scope, including Heavy duty & Aero derivative gas turbines. Prime accountability will be in Quality, On-time delivery, cost & engineering productivity.

As a Lead Engineer - Mechanical Design - Gas Turbine Packaging Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for:

  • Going through customer specifications in detail, understanding critical project requirements, and deriving all necessary requirements for the design of various Mechanical Auxiliaries.
  • Performing Structural analysis of baseplates using FEA tools [Ansys] and support structures, and walkways.
  • Collaborating with external engineering suppliers in the creation of basic engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Performing calculation of foundation loads for the structures & baseplates and package lifting verification.
  • Sizing and selection of equipment - Fan/ pump /motor/ filter/ heat exchanger.
  • Selection of valves, understanding of piping systems (pipe sizing, pressure drop calculations, material selection, piping stress, piping supports etc.).
  • Leading project meetings, and 3D model reviews with global customers

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's / master's in mechanical/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 4-8 years of experience in Rotating Machinery Design
  • Have exposure to 3D modelling/Detailing tools like UG NX, AutoCAD,
  • Have hands on working experience & expertise on FEA Analysis software like Ansys, etc.
  • Have experience in Quality control system awareness and familiarity with the main API/ASME codes.
  • Be able to connect with experts across multiple domains globally to arrive at solutions in a quick turn-around of time
  • Display a good aptitude for building trusted relationships with key customers, partners, industry influencers and decision-makers
