Here's what you'll need

Education BE- Mechanical (Post graduation will be added advantage but not mandatory) Experience in material handling 15 to 20 Years

  • In this role, you will be responsible for preparing various types of racking layouts, manmaterial handling layouts, warehouse inventory designs, warehouse sizing, traffic management analyses, material selection, and material handling equipment (MHE) selection. You should have strong knowledge of all kinds of racking systems (conventional, nonconventional, and automated), pallets, and material handling equipment such as stackers, reach trucks, dock levelers, forklifts, hydraulic platforms, pallet trucks, etc.
  • In addition to warehouse systems and equipment, you should be familiar with product filling/bagging systems, conveying/transfer systems, palletizing, and robotics.
  • You must also be wellversed in engineering activities, including preparation of design basis reports, conceptual designs, MDS, MR, TBA, TR, PR, VDR, layouts, vendor coordination, internal coordination, and client discussions. A strong understanding of IS, ISO, EN, NFPA, NBC, national, and international codes and standards is essential.
  • You should have a thorough understanding of the requirements of industries such as industrial plants, FMCG, chemicals/specialty chemicals, electric batteries, and solar PV. Knowledge of FEED, basic engineering, conceptual engineering, detailed engineering, costing, and manhours estimation is also required.
  • You should be capable of managing a team of engineers and designers to ensure successful project delivery within schedule and desired quality standards. This includes understanding the overall project schedule, preparing microschedules for departmental activities, identifying inputs required from other disciplines, clients, and vendors, and ensuring timely availability of all necessary information. Additionally, you must ensure that all systems, procedures, and protocols are followed by the team.
  • You will also be responsible for controlling project manhours and maintaining continuous communication with the team, clients, vendors, and the project management team.
