Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Furniture
Location: IMT Manesar | Full Time
Company: Ozar Objects
About Ozar Objects
Ozar Objects is a design-led furniture brand focused on creating original solid wood furniture through
thoughtful engineering and precision manufacturing. Our products are developed in-house through a
collaborative process between designers, engineers, and craftsmen.
We combine traditional woodworking
knowledge with modern fabrication methods such as CNC machining to create furniture that is visually
restrained, structurally assured, and built to last.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer who will lead the engineering effort that translates
furniture design into efficient, repeatable manufacturing systems. This role sits at the intersection of
design, engineering, and production, ensuring that furniture products move smoothly from concept and
prototyping to scalable manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Design to Manufacturing Engineering
• Translate furniture designs into manufacturable production processes.
• Review CAD models and technical drawings to identify manufacturing challenges specific to wood and
furniture construction.
• Work closely with the design team to refine furniture products for manufacturability, durability, and
ergonomics.
Process Development
• Define manufacturing workflows across wood machining, CNC operations, assembly, sanding,
finishing, and packaging.
• Develop routing sequences for wooden components and furniture assemblies.
• Create clear process documentation and standard operating procedures for furniture production.
Manufacturing Systems
• Develop and maintain structured production systems including BOMs, routing sheets, job cards, and
work instructions.
• Standardize documentation and process instructions across machining, assembly, finishing, and QC.
CNC & Wood Machining Support
• Support CNC machining strategies for solid wood components.
• Work closely with CAM programmers and machine operators to improve machining efficiency and
reduce material waste.
• Troubleshoot machining, joinery, and fabrication challenges on the shop floor.
Production Improvement
• Analyze cycle time, material yield, quality issues, and process bottlenecks.
• Improve wood utilization and reduce wastage during machining and cutting.
• Implement standard work practices across furniture production departments.
Team Leadership
• Lead and coordinate a small product engineering team including a Design Engineer, CAM
Programmer, and Prototype Development lead.
• Ensure smooth collaboration between design, engineering, prototyping, and production.
Shop Floor Collaboration
• Work closely with operators and supervisors to resolve daily production challenges.
• Train teams on improved processes and best practices.
• Support implementation of quality and safety systems across the factory.
Required Experience
• 5–12+ years experience in furniture manufacturing, wood product manufacturing, or related fabrication
industries.
• Strong understanding of solid wood furniture construction, joinery methods, and machining workflows.
• Experience working with CNC routers and machining processes used in furniture production.
• Experience creating BOMs, routing sheets, and engineering documentation for furniture products.
• Hands-on experience working with shop floor teams including carpentry, assembly, and finishing
departments.
Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering,
Industrial Design, or related field.
• Equivalent hands-on experience in furniture manufacturing environments will also be considered.
