Role- Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have

8-15 years of technology experience, with substantial recent hands-on responsibility for enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, upgrading, troubleshooting, and operating Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, controllers, operators, CRDs, RBAC, service accounts, networking, storage, scheduling, autoscaling, and workload isolation.
Hands-on experience with Helm, OCI containers, Artifact Registry, Terraform, CI/CD, and GitOps-based deployment practices.
Experience operating stateful, distributed, or data-intensive workloads on GKE.
Practical experience enabling Apache Spark on GKE and working knowledge of Kafka, Flink, Airflow, Iceberg, and Cloud Storage integration.
Strong knowledge of Cloud IAM and GKE Workload Identity Federation.
Experience with ingress, Cloud DNS, TLS certificates, load balancers, network policies, persistent storage, and Secret Manager integration.
Ability to diagnose cross-layer issues spanning GCP infrastructure, GKE, data runtimes, networking, identity, storage, and automation.
Strong technical leadership, documentation, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.

Good to Have

Experience with Strimzi, Spark Operator, Flink Kubernetes Operator, KubernetesExecutor, or comparable operator-driven deployments.
Exposure to Apache Polaris, Project Nessie, Trino, OpenMetadata, JupyterHub, or other modern lakehouse platform services.
Experience with policy engines such as Kyverno or Open Policy Agent/Gatekeeper and with enterprise secrets platforms such as Vault.
Experience supporting hybrid, sovereign, disconnected, restricted, or regulated GCP environments.
Understanding of SRE practices, capacity planning, performance engineering, disaster recovery, and platform cost optimization.
