Role Description
The Lead IT Systems Engineer is a high-impact role working directly alongside the Founder. This position requires a highly capable technologist who can operate with complete autonomy to digitize, streamline, and scale our internal operations. You will act as the principal architect of our internal technical ecosystem—conceptualizing and coding bespoke in-house platforms from scratch, while also seamlessly integrating and managing sophisticated third-party enterprise solutions when off-the-shelf software is the most efficient route.
Key Responsibilities:
• Custom System Development: Autonomously design, code, and deploy independent internal enterprise systems as the organization's needs evolve (e.g., Human Resource Management Systems, Employee Management Systems, Inventory/Manufacturing trackers).
• Third-Party System Integration: Evaluate, procure, and integrate external SaaS solutions, ERPs, and workflow platforms into the company's existing technical architecture. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between bespoke and third-party systems via APIs and middleware.
• End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage the complete software development lifecycle for internal tools, from gathering requirements directly from leadership to deployment, testing, and long-term maintenance.
• IT Infrastructure & Security: Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of all corporate and manufacturing IT systems, protecting sensitive organizational data.
• Strategic Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical advisor to the Founder, identifying bottlenecks in daily operations and proactively proposing technological solutions to drive business efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in system engineering, full-stack software development, or enterprise IT architecture.
• Core Programming: Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, Python, or PHP) to build intuitive, responsive internal portals and applications.
• Database Management: Deep expertise in relational and non-relational database design and management (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) for complex internal data structuring.
• API & Integration Expertise: Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and system-tosystem integrations to unify diverse enterprise software platforms.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud hosting environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and modern deployment practices.
• Operational Mindset: A strong understanding of business operations, HR, and workflow management, with the ability to translate operational friction into efficient technical solutions.
• Independence: Exceptional ability to work entirely self-directed, taking high-level business goals and independently transforming them into functional technological realities.
