Job Description

We are seeking a technical Laed Ignition Developer to join our Digital Technology (DT) team supporting our manufacturing plants. This role will play a key part in delivering scalable, data-driven applications using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform to improve operations, visibility, and productivity on the shop floor. The ideal candidate should have hands-on, solutions-oriented experience in developing robust SCADA/IIoT systems within complex manufacturing environments, with expertise in Manufacturing Cloud, integration, and Ignition DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications using Ignition SCADA, primarily Perspective and Vision modules.
  • Understand the integrate of Ignition with PLCs, other MES systems, QMS, and ERP databases.
  • Support DT initiatives aimed at digitalizing and optimizing factory floor operations through shopfloor data and visualization tools.
  • Build intuitive and responsive dashboards, HMIs, alarm systems, and historical data tracking applications.
  • Implement and manage integration between Ignition and Manufacturing Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) for seamless data exchange.
  • Apply Ignition DevOps principles to automate deployment pipelines, configuration management, and version control in Ignition projects.
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and performance for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with operations team to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Maintain best practices in project organization, version control, deployment, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the stack - from device connectivity to UI performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6 -10+ years of experience in Ignition SCADA development in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of Ignition Perspective, Vision, Tag Historian, UDTs, and Gateway scripting (Python).
  • Skilled in Python, SQL, and working with relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience integrating with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), OPC-UA, middleware (Kepware) and industrial devices.
  • Familiarity with Digital Technology initiatives in manufacturing - data integration, machine connectivity, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for real-time data exchange and integration with plant systems.
  • Knowledge of Ignition DevOps practices, including automation of deployments, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines for Ignition projects.
  • Experience supporting or deploying digital solutions on industrial shop floors.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or related field.
  • Ignition Gold Certification.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems architecture, including MES, QMS, ERP (SAP), or equipment monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity practices and compliance standards.
  • Exposure to Docker, Node-RED, or edge computing concepts.
