About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced technical lead with 8+ years in software engineering to architect and build complex, scalable applications. In this role, you will lead technical development, drive best practices, and tackle complex problem-solving scenarios. You will leverage Python, PostgreSQL, cloud-native technologies, and GenAI tooling to accelerate delivery and foster a culture of excellence.

The Team:
As a member of the EDO, Collection Platforms & AI - Foundational Data & Linking team, you will be at the heart of our data-driven strategy. You will build and maintain enterprise-scale data processing pipelines that power our critical data sourcing, information retrieval, and machine learning solutions. In our cloud-native ecosystem, you will have the opportunity to design resilient, production-ready systems and grow your skills in a highly collaborative, global environment that encourages innovation and ownership.

Responsibilities and Impact:

. Software Development & Architecture: Architect, design, and develop scalable cloud-based data applications and robust pipelines within a cross-functional Agile team.

. AI & Innovation: Spearhead traditional AI and GenAI initiatives. Leverage tools like GitHub Copilot to improve development speed, code quality, and time-to-market.

. Complex Problem Solving: Manage and optimize existing solutions. Solve highly complex architectural problems by weighing costs, benefits, and long-term scalability.

. Operations & Reliability: Troubleshoot and debug complex code and cloud infrastructure issues to guarantee system reliability and high availability.

. Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Provide hands-on guidance, conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and closely collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders through excellent documentation and clear communication.

What We're Looking For:

Education & Experience:

. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

. 8+ years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Science roles.

Core Technical Skills:

. Programming & Databases: Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and PostgreSQL.

. Cloud-Native & Infrastructure: Strong hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, or GCP). Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and BigQuery.

. Event-Driven Architecture: Deep experience implementing and scaling messaging systems like Message Broker Systems or similar enterprise tools.

. Observability: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Advanced / Good-to-Have Skills:

. Big Data Technologies: Exposure to Big Data processing ecosystems (Big Data Processing Engines, Databricks, AWS EMR, Apache NiFi, and ETL pipelines).

Soft Skills & Attributes:

. Advanced complex problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.

. Deep passion for continuous learning and adopting emerging technologies.

. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven track record of driving alignment across diverse, global, and matrixed teams
