Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Healthcare Interoperability Engineer with deep expertise in FHIR (R4), HL7, and healthcare payer systems. This role will focus on validating interoperability solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving end-to-end quality engineering for payer–provider integrations, particularly in prior authorization and utilization management workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate FHIR-based APIs and workflows for compliance with FHIR R4 standards and implementation guides.
  • Design and execute interoperability test scenarios and test cases across payer–provider systems.
  • Perform end-to-end testing of Prior Authorization and Utilization Management workflows.
  • Validate data quality, terminology binding (e.g., SNOMED, LOINC), and FHIR profile conformance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain all QA artifacts including test strategies, plans, cases, and reports.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements and improve first-pass success rates in transactions.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders in a US healthcare payer environment.
  • Work closely with development teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in API and interoperability layers.
  • Drive quality best practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile environments.

AI-Enabled QA & Engineering Practices

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance test case generation, defect analysis, and automation efficiency.
  • Use AI-driven approaches for test data generation, anomaly detection, and predictive quality insights.
  • Promote continuous improvement through intelligent test automation and AI-augmented QA processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 9 to 12+ years of experience in Healthcare IT / Interoperability Engineering / QA.
  • Strong knowledge of FHIR (R4), HL7 standards, and RESTful APIs (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in API testing using tools like Postman, SOAP UI, or similar.
  • Strong expertise in healthcare interoperability frameworks and standards.
  • Experience in data validation, JSON/XML structures, and API workflows.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies including functional, integration, and system testing.
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, defect management, and test lifecycle.

Work Mode: Hybrid

Shift: 2 PM to 11 PM IST

Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad / Chennai / Pune
