Lead Hardware Test Engineer
Job Summary
Cyient is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hardware Test Engineer to lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans for our cutting-edge hardware products. This role will involve driving the testing strategy, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable hardware solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of hardware test strategies, methodologies, and processes.
- Design and develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test procedures for new and existing hardware products, including functional, performance, reliability, and environmental testing.
- Oversee the execution of hardware tests, analyze test results, and identify and debug hardware issues.
- Collaborate closely with hardware design, software development, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and validation.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test fixtures to enhance efficiency and coverage.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior hardware test engineers, fostering their growth and development.
- Contribute to the selection and evaluation of test equipment and tools.
- Document test plans, procedures, results, and bug reports thoroughly and accurately.
- Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, and other quality assurance activities.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in hardware testing.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in hardware testing, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive test plans for complex embedded systems, PCBs, and electronic assemblies.
- Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design, power electronics, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIe).
- Hands-on experience with various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and DMMs.
- Proficiency in test automation scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, C#).
- Experience with environmental testing (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibration) and EMI/EMC testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance for hardware products.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
