About the Role
Lead Hardware Embedded Engineer
You will be the technical anchor for all hardware and embedded system development projects. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you will be responsible for the entire product lifecyclefrom defining the initial architecture with clients to ensuring successful, cost-effective manufacturing. You will manage technical execution, quality, timeline, and budget across multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Execution
End-to-End Ownership: Lead the complete hardware development cycle, including system architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, component selection, prototyping, and validation.
Design for Manufacturing (DFx): Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) practices to ensure production readiness, reliability, and cost optimization.
Embedded Firmware: Provide technical leadership and hands-on contributions to the Embedded C/C++ firmware development, focusing on integration, driver development, and RTOS/bare-metal implementation.
Validation & Testing: Define and execute rigorous hardware validation plans, including bench testing, environmental testing, and compliance (FCC, CE, etc.) readiness.
2. Project Management & Client Service
Client Interface: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, translating complex, often fluid requirements into clear, executable technical specifications and project plans.
Scope Management: Proactively identify and manage technical risks, scope changes, and timeline adjustments, communicating impacts clearly and professionally to both the client and internal stakeholders.
Supply Chain Strategy: Work closely with procurement to manage the Bill of Materials (BOM), mitigate supply chain risks (component shortages), and identify suitable second sources.
3. Mentorship & Process Improvement
Review and approve designs, testing methodologies, and technical documentation created by junior engineers or partners.
Establish and continuously improve internal design standards, documentation practices, and DFM checklists.
Required Skills and Experience (Must Haves)
5+ years of professional experience in electronic product design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior ownership role.
Proven experience taking at least 3 hardware products through the entire lifecycle from concept/prototype to mass production (1,000+ units).
Expert-level proficiency with professional EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer is strongly preferred) for complex, multi-layer PCB design, including experience with high-speed digital (e.g., DDR, PCIe, MIPI) and power electronics.
Strong hands-on expertise in Embedded C/C++ development for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32, NXP) and experience working with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) or Linux/Android kernel space.
Expertise in debugging and root cause analysis using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience managing technical client relationships and expectations.
Nice to Have Qualifications
Experience with wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, Cellular).
Familiarity with regulatory certification processes (FCC, CE, UL).
Experience with scripting languages (Python) for test automation or data analysis.
Salary- INR 60,000 Per Month.
