Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Hadoop Administrator with 8-10+ years of expertise in managing and optimizing Hadoop ecosystems. This role demands a proactive individual who can lead by example, manage critical projects, and ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our Hadoop infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the Hadoop administration team, providing technical guidance and mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement best practices for big data platform management.
- Hadoop Cluster Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to stability, reliability, and security.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Develop advanced shell scripts to automate system tasks and processes.
- Write and debug Python scripts to support application integration and infrastructure needs.
- System Administration:
- Oversee Linux system administration for the Hadoop ecosystem, ensuring a secure and efficient environment.
- Containerization & Orchestration:
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers for big data applications.
- Ensure smooth deployment and scaling of containerized applications.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required Experience:
- 8-10+ years of experience in Hadoop administration in a production environment.
- Extensive experience with Linux system administration.
- Strong expertise in shell scripting.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Preferred Certifications:
- LFCS (Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator)
- CCAH (Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop)
