THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Forward-Deployed Engineer (AI Solutions) at Xactly Corporation, you'll be responsible for the AI implementation lifecycle from beginning to end. This includes requirements gathering, documentation, and the technical configuration of autonomous AI agents, as well as leading customers through testing and deployment. This position will also play a key role in working with Xactly's Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve and enhance our AI offerings.
Client interactions will typically be at the Director level and above at companies that expect a high level of technical expertise and customer service. We are seeking an individual with strong technical or implementation consulting experience and excellent communication skills. Ideally, you possess domain expertise in incentive compensation or sales performance management and have deep experience with programming languages and relational databases.

THE TEAM
Xactly's Customer Value Consulting team is a mix of technical consultants and compensation experts from industries including SaaS, financial services, and incentive compensation. They are a group of driven, highly motivated self-starters who adapt quickly and thrive in a fluid environment. They are fast learners who possess the business savvy to execute complex AI projects across all client verticals and interact effectively with any customer persona.
THE SKILL SET
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 4-6 years in Technology Consulting, AI/ML Engineering, or related fields.
- Solution Architecture: Ability to translate customer requirements into AI solution designs, guiding clients through decision-making processes and consulting on best practices for agent deployment.
- Technical Acumen: Strong business acumen matched with technical problem-solving skills, including a deep understanding of the SDLC and RDBMS data structures.
- AI & Data Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL development, with specific experience in LLM orchestration frameworks and RAG architectures.
- Integration & Troubleshooting: Proven experience with system integrations and troubleshooting complex technical hurdles in enterprise environments.
- Leadership: Ability to work as a functional lead on assigned projects, overseeing technical work as needed while driving successful customer outcomes.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding service-orientation with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a larger team.
Within One Month, You'll
- Participate in our Customer Value Consulting Bootcamp to learn our products, processes, and AI implementation framework through mock scenarios.
- Begin ramping onto live AI agent deployment projects as soon as training is completed.
- Interact with customers as part of your first live AI implementations.
Within Three Months, You'll
- Consistently and successfully implement AI solutions for both new and existing customers.
- Manage concurrent implementations, taking customers live with Xactly's AI products each month.
- Become a subject matter expert in at least one specific aspect of Xactly's AI agents (e.g., prompt engineering or data orchestration), including supporting other consultants in that area.
- Drive urgency, instill confidence, and provide a world-class customer experience as you guide customers through implementations.
Within Six Months, You'll
- Manage a high volume of customers through the AI implementation process to ensure project success and product adoption.
- Interact with customers daily to drive engagement and utilization of deployed AI agents.
- Become a subject matter expert in several aspects of Xactly's AI suite, developing training materials to support the broader team.
- Meet and exceed quarterly metrics and objectives while providing input for AI agent feature and implementation process improvements.
Within Twelve Months, You'll
- Mentor new hires and teach best practices in AI deployment to lead the team toward future success.
- Deepen knowledge of tactics to increase customer satisfaction and improve implementation timelines, sharing these insights across the team.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions for complex AI use cases, creating and executing designs that meet specific enterprise needs.
- Identify gaps within AI deployment processes, proposing and executing solutions to continue raising the bar for the team.
