Job Summary

Job Description - Lead Food Technologist

  • We are seeking a qualified Lead Food Technologist (7-14 years) to support product development, quality control, and process improvement activities in the milk, coffee, and tea-based beverage industry. The role involves end-to-end ownership of product formulation, commercialization, laboratory management, supplier quality, agro procurement, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in dairy and beverage technology, a creative mindset for innovation, and proven experience in successfully launching new products from concept to scale-up.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Innovation & New Product Development (Core Focus)
  • Lead end-to-end New Product Development (concept to commercialization).
  • Develop innovative milk-based coffee and tea beverages aligned with market trends.
  • Conduct formulation, bench trials, pilot runs, and scale-up production.
  • Work on flavour profiling, emulsification, stability, and shelf-life enhancement.
  • Drive product renovation, cost optimization, and value engineering.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to launch differentiated products.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 46 members across QC and NPD functions.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and technical training sessions.
  • Quality Control & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure end-to-end quality compliance for milk, coffee, and tea beverages.
  • Maintain adherence to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations and food safety standards.
  • Implement HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 systems.
  • Handle internal, external, and regulatory audits.
  • Complete Laboratory & Supplier Quality Control
  • Oversee laboratory testing, calibration, validation, and SOP management.
  • Evaluate and approve milk, coffee, tea, and agro raw material suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure raw material traceability.
  • Process Development & Optimization
  • Optimize pasteurization, homogenization, blending, and extraction processes.
  • Improve process efficiency, reduce wastage, and enhance product consistency.
  • Troubleshoot production and formulation challenges.

Education Qualification

  • B.Tech / B.E in Food Technology / Food Science / Dairy Technology / Food Processing OR M.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology / Food Science / Dairy Science / Food Engineering

Key Competencies Required

  • Strong innovative mindset with proven NPD success.
  • Expertise in dairy beverage formulation and stabilization.
  • Knowledge of coffee and tea extraction processes.
  • Strong leadership skills (mandatory team handling experience of 46 members).
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and commercialization skills.
  • Strong regulatory and documentation knowledge.
