IoT Platform Software Engineer (Qualcomm)

General Summary:

Join a multi-skilled IoT platform team working across various technologies to build quick prototypes for customer demos, develop features spanning application to kernel/BSP layers, and support Qualcomm SoC-based IoT products end-to-end. Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to ensure timely delivery of competitive, stable, and performant products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build rapid prototypes on Linux/Android platforms for customer demos and IoT use cases.
• Develop features across the software stack: applications, middleware, kernel, BSP.
• Support platform bring-ups on different SoCs and coordinate cross-team issue resolution.
• Work closely with customer engineering teams to resolve escalated platform-specific issues.
• Deliver products on time with focus on functionality, stability, and performance.
• Collaborate effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1-2+ years of software engineering experience (academic or professional).
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ (experience with Java, Python is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with Android and/or Ubuntu Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of Linux internals and related technologies (systemd, SELinux, Snaps, containerization including Docker).
• Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture and SoC bring-up processes.
• Knowledge of multimedia subsystems: Camera, Video, Audio, Display, Graphics.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills for software and system-level issues.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, and comfortable working across various technology areas.
