Job Description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Primary Design Engineering activities for AIS / GIS Substation and Power Distribution Projects in accordance with project requirements, standards, and lead engineer guidance.
  • Develop and deliver primary engineering outputs while ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate effectively with site teams, vendors, and inter-disciplinary stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of engineering activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, vendor documents, Bills of Materials (BOM), and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform engineering activities related to Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Layout Engineering, Earthing Systems, Cable Routing, Lighting Systems, and Lightning Protection Systems.
  • Support vendor offer reviews, pre-tender engineering activities, and BOM estimation for project proposals and execution requirements.
  • Function as an individual contributor with cross-functional coordination responsibilities, ensuring timely completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Provide technical clarifications to site execution teams, address design-related queries, and resolve engineering issues arising during project execution.
  • Utilize MS Office and Dialux for engineering documentation and design activities; exposure to ETAP, PSCAD, and CYMGRD will be considered an added advantage.

Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND INDUSTRY PREFERENCE:

  • 3–7 years of experience in Primary Design Engineering for Substation projects, preferably involving AIS / GIS Substations and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing primary engineering deliverables, including layouts, SLDs, earthing systems, cable routing, and associated design documentation.
  • Familiarity with vendor document review, pre-tender engineering activities, and material estimation processes.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams, vendors, and site personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and meeting project timelines.
  • MUST: SUBSTATION DESIGN EXPERIENCE.
