Lead Engineer - Engineering Design

JOB PURPOSE

Deliver high-quality, innovative lighting products that meet customer needs and market demands. Optimize development processes to reduce time-to-market and improve product lifecycle management. Foster a culture of innovation, continuously exploring new technologies and methodologies to advance product capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architectural sub systems design

• Partner with product managers to define product archetype suiting to the value proposition for the proposed solution. Help marketing take decisions based on cost, quality, and performance attributes with respect to values added to proposition.
• Study and interpret simulation reports and make design propositions.

Engineering design

• Work closely with Industrial Design (external as well as internal) & product teams to develop concepts and carry the development through to manufacturing.
• Ensure best practices are used for arriving at FTR decisions like simulation-based designs, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFR, DFX
• Work with various engineering and client functions to develop layout, solid models, assembly and detailing of product subsystems, components, and interface structures using CAD/PLM tools, like Creo parametric.
• 
  
• Review design for aluminum die casting, plastic and metal parts, extrusion components and specify finish.
• Guide team on identification of risks through robust DFMEA and RPN reduction.
• Review BOM (Bill of Materials) and 2D drawings with CTQ markings.
• Control product cost of the end proposition throughout the NPD process
• Develop working prototypes for design validation and analysis.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the primary technical liaison between engineering teams, product management, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical requirements and goals.

Documentation and control

• Oversee projects from product brief to prototype and tooling.
• Drive NPD process compliance from concept to part realization.
• Responsible for ISO process compliance of ED function.

B.E / B.TECH/ M.Tech Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics
