About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to drive the design, development, and scaling of high-performance backend systems. This is an open tech-stack role, and we welcome candidates with strong expertise in technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python, Golang, or similar backend frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable distributed systems, leading engineering initiatives, and mentoring teams in a fast-paced product environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend applications and services.
• Architect high-performance, fault-tolerant, and secure systems.
• Drive technical decisions, engineering standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, and Data teams.
• Design and implement APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Ensure application scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews.
• Mentor and guide engineers across the team.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues and drive long-term solutions.
• Participate in hiring, technical evaluations, and team-building initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6-10 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong expertise in at least one backend technology such as Node.js, Java, Python, Golang, PHP, .NET, or similar.
• Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
• Hands-on experience with message queues and streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar.
• Experience building and scaling high-traffic applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern development practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Good to Have

• Experience working on gaming, fintech, e-commerce, SaaS, or consumer internet products.
• Exposure to real-time systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and performance optimization tools.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring developers.
