JOB Summary
- We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer with 1015 years of experience in executing EPC projects across Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Water Treatment sectors.
- The candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical design and engineering team, ensuring technical integrity, timely delivery, and compliance with international standards and project specifications from concept through detailed engineering and construction phases.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all electrical engineering and design activities across project phases FEED, detailed design, and EPC execution.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical design deliverables including single line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, lighting layouts, earthing layouts, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS, etc.).
- Perform or review load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and relay coordination studies using software like ETAP or equivalent.
- Coordinate with process, instrumentation, civil, and mechanical disciplines for interface requirements.
- Review vendor documents and data sheets for LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS, VFDs, lighting systems, and other electrical packages.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and FAT/SAT inspections.
- Support project construction teams with technical clarifications, field engineering, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC, safety, and project schedule requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and manage resource allocation within the discipline team.
Techincal And Industrial Expertise
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in industrial plants: power distribution, motor control centers (MCC), switchgear, transformers, and grounding systems.
- Hands-on experience with ETAP, SmartPlant Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or equivalent software.
- Expertise in electrical design codes and standards: IEC, IEEE, NEC, IS, API, NFPA, etc.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classification and Ex-rated equipment selection.
- Knowledge of EPC project workflows, interdisciplinary coordination, and vendor management.
- Exposure to power system studies, cable sizing, and protection system design.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 1015 years of experience in electrical engineering and design for EPC projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Water Treatment industries.
- Proven experience in leading a discipline team and managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in ETAP / EDSA / Power Tools and AutoCAD Electrical / SmartPlant Electrical.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design, construction, and commissioning practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment and manage client interfaces.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, vendor meetings, and inspections when required.
