- Conduct feasibility study of engineering deliverable such as electrical systems, power distribution networks, and control systems, to ensure they can be effectively implemented
within the project scope
- Evaluate vendor bids to determine compliance with specifications or justifications for deviations.
- Analyse quotations on a comparative basis and make technical acceptability recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients to modify specifications or technical recommendations, if
necessary.
- Review and approve vendor equipment drawings, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and initiating necessary revisions for manufacturing
- Participate in area review meetings and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure the availability of required inputs
- Manage projects to ensure their successful execution, alignment with strategic goals, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of reliable electrical services
- Participate in proposal efforts and in preparation of project implementation procedures
- Identify major risks involved in projects and suggest mitigation measures to assess potential threats, develop contingency plans, and minimize impact of adverse events
- Prepare value engineering proposals for cost optimization through the course of the project maximizing the project's value while maintaining or improving its quality
- Estimate total material requirements to ensure effective utilization of resources
- Interpret prime contracts, determine engineering scope and set up engineering work plan for the department on complex projects
- Collaborate with departmental specialists to enhance project coordination and efficiency.
- Provide engineering support to construction, assisting in the resolution of SERs (Site Engineering Requests), PSRs (Project Scope Revisions), ECRs (Engineering Change Requests), etc.
