Job Description

The EcoStruxure Platform Operations (Ops) team manages the Cloud Infrastructure, including Technical, Security, and Financial Operations, as well as Azure Infrastructure management, DevOps foundations, Observability, Container platforms lifecycle, and 24x7 Support for the whole organization. This is all based on Azure cloud, Azure Kubernetes Services, Docker, Open Telemetry, and other technologies. The team operates as an agile organization, focused on efficiency, collaboration, and innovation. All services, offers, and technological platforms are hosted and operated in public cloud environments (Azure), making extensive use of both IaaS and PaaS/SaaS services.

Job Purpose

The DevOps Engineer will contribute to three main themes:

  • DevOps foundations: Software delivery & Deployment Methodologies & Tools
  • Observability Solutions
  • Container Platform Management

Key Responsibilities

As part of the DevOps product team, the DevOps Engineer will contribute to the following topics:

  • Design and implement best practices and reference implementations on our three main themes.
  • Provide guidance to Product Development Teams through consulting activities on our reference implementations.
  • Maintain & upgrade reference implementations.
  • Act as L3 Technical Support for the E2E operations team.

Qualifications

Technical Skills and Experience

The candidate is expected to have the following:

  • E2E Vision: Complete understanding of Software delivery lifecycle from build to run activities.
  • Software Development/Programming background: To help Product teams instrument their code to enable Observability.
  • Azure Cloud certified.
  • Container platforms: Docker, AKS (K8S), and alternatives.
  • CI/CD: Pipeline management with Azure DevOps or GitHub (YAML pipelines), Ansible.
  • Observability: Open Telemetry, FluentD, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor (or equivalent).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
  • Configuration management: GitOps.
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Unix Shell.
  • Operating system: Windows & Linux.
  • Collaboration tools: JIRA, Confluence, Github, AzDO, SharePoint.
  • Experience of run phases: To understand challenges related to transition with R&D.
  • Certified Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ104).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience on Azure Cloud and DevOps.
  • Solid experience in designing and implementing DevOps & Cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Other Skills

  • Have a service-oriented attitude (flexible, personable, and approachable).
  • Experience in agile projects (SAFe certified is a plus).
  • Able to guide/influence the work of others to improve their DevOps maturity.
  • Hold good written and verbal communication skills to ease adoption of reference implementations.
  • Familiar with non-functional requirements Logs, Backup, DRP, Resilient Design.
  • Experience of international projects / English: Professional.
  • Proactive and autonomous
