Job Summary
We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our DevOps capability across cloud and on-prem environment. This role combines hands-on engineering, platform ownership, and technical leadership.
You will define and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure, drive automation and observability maturity, and enable development teams to deliver reliably at speed.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform & Infrastructure
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized infrastructure across cloud (preferably AWS) and on-prem environments
- Lead modernization and transformation of existing environments
Infrastructure as Code
- Drive IaC adoption using Terraform / CloudFormation
- Standardize reusable, version-controlled infrastructure patterns
CI/CD & Developer Enablement
- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Enable development and QA teams to adopt and own delivery pipelines
Observability & Reliability
- Implement end-to-end observability (metrics, logs, tracing)
- Proactively detect and resolve issues, lead incident response and RCA
Security & Compliance
- Integrate DevSecOps practices into the delivery lifecycle
- Ensure adoption of security tools and compliance standards across teams
Operations Excellence
- Ensure high availability and stability of environments through proactive monitoring and management
- Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and operational standards
Leadership
- Mentor and guide DevOps engineers
- Establish best practices and drive a culture of ownership, automation, and accountability
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 610 years in DevOps / Platform Engineering / SRE
- Strong experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms
- Hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation), CI/CD tooling (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins), Containerization (Docker; Kubernetes) is a plus
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Proven ability to work across teams and influence engineering practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure, GCP)
- Experience in product-based or high-scale environments
- Exposure to security and compliance frameworks
