Role Description
We are seeking a high-caliber Lead DevOps & AWS Trainer to take ownership of our flagship technical curriculum. In this fully remote role, you will be the architectural mind and the driving voice behind our training programs. You will design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge training sessions, while directly mentoring learners to bridge the gap between theory and industry deployment.
A core focus of this role is preparing and empowering our students to successfully pass the AWS Certified Solutions Architect examination, alongside mastering the specific DevOps toolsets currently dominating the UK tech market.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Design & Delivery: End-to-end ownership of designing, updating, and delivering engaging, high-impact training modules on AWS and DevOps methodologies.
- Certification Mentorship: Actively coach and prepare students to confidently clear the AWS Certified Solutions Architect exam.
- Hands-on Coaching: Guide learners through real-world technical projects, practical lab exercises, and troubleshooting scenarios.
- UK Market Alignment: Continually adapt course content to ensure students are learning the major DevOps tools and frameworks most in-demand by UK employers.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Expertise- AWS Expert: Deep architectural knowledge of AWS services, cloud deployment strategies, and best practices, with a proven track record of clearing/teaching the AWS Solutions Architect pathway.
- DevOps Tool Mastery: Mastery of the core DevOps tools essential to the UK market, including but not limited to:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation
- CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins
- Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- Configuration Management: Ansible
- Software Development: Strong proficiency in modern software development workflows, version control (Git), and test automation methodologies.
Leadership & Communication- Impactful Communication: Exceptional ability to break down complex architectural concepts into digestible, engaging lessons for learners of varying backgrounds.
- Mentorship Mindset: A passion for student success, patience in technical troubleshooting, and strong coaching capabilities.
- Autonomy: Ability to manage training schedules, drive curriculum updates, and deliver results independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent commercial experience).
- Prior experience in a formal training, teaching, or technical boot camp role.
- Active AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Associate / Professional).
