About the Role
We're hiring a Design Lead to own the end-to-end design of ShopOSfrom AI-powered workflows and dashboards to immersive storefronts and automation layers. You'll lead product design across multiple surfaces (web, mobile, internal tools), shape systems thinking at scale, and work alongside engineering, GTM, and AI teams to bring frontier commerce experiences to life. This is a zero-to-one, high-agency role perfect for someone who's ready to scale design leadership while still shipping hands-on. You'll be responsible for elevating design quality across the stack, building a design system from scratch, and making sure every user interactionwhether a marketer editing an AI prompt or a shopper browsing a personalized storefrontfeels magical and frictionless.
What You'II Own
- Own the design of the ShopOS platform across modules: product automation, content generation, analytics, and storefront UIs
- Establish a strong design system that balances speed, flexibility, and visual coherence
- Partner closely with founders, product, and engineering to rapidly ship intuitive, performant user experiences
- Build and scale a design team including hiring, mentoring, and setting up workflows
- Drive UX research and user testing to inform product decisions and improve usability
- Bridge creative and technical teams working with Gen AI outputs, developer tooling, and creative automation
- Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and performance across surfaces
- Maintain a high bar for craft, usability, and user empathy while shipping fast and iteratively
What We're Looking for
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a lead or principal role
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product designinformation architecture, UI/UX, interaction design, prototyping
- Experience in SaaS, workflow tools, or B2B/B2C platforms
- Skilled in Figma and design systems thinking
- Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of usability, system architecture, and user psychology
- Comfortable giving and receiving design feedbacklow ego, high candor
- Ability to scope MVPs, prioritize ruthlessly, and lead design sprints
Bonus Points
- Experience designing Gen AI products, creative tools, or prompt-based interfaces
- Familiarity with eCommerce design patterns, storefront CMS systems, or merchandising tools
- Strong visual design and branding skills
- Experience designing internal tools or dashboards for marketing/sales teams
- Experience building from 01 in an early-stage startup
- Understanding of motion design, micro-interactions, or component-level animation
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and setting your own direction
