Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design System Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive design system strategy, in collaboration with design and engineering teams, that aligns with our product vision and business objectives.
  • Leadership & Process Management: Be the SPOC for all things related to Design Systems, Accessibility and standardization. Influence and drive change with designers, PMs and engineers across product pods. Set up efficient processes for the entire component lifecycle -> from component requests all the way to QA for developed components.
  • World-class visual design: You will elevate the visual design standards across the organisation.
  • Component Design, Content, and Documentation: Define and create reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that optimize user experience and adhere to Accessibility standards. Liaise with the Brand team to set Content and UX Writing guidelines.
  • Governance and Maintenance: Establish governance processes and standards to ensure the integrity and evolution of the design system over time, with a strong focus on Accessibility compliance. Regularly update and maintain comprehensive design system documentation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the design organization. Effectively communicate the value and principles of the design system, including Accessibility considerations, to stakeholders at all levels.
  • User-Centric Design: Advocate for user-centered design principles and incorporate user feedback, including Accessibility requirements, into iterative design system improvements.
  • Accessibility Audits & Compliance: Plan for and execute regular audits with third-party vendors to ensure compliance and ensure valid VPAT documentation for all the products.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience (7+ years) as a Product Designer specializing in design systems, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating and implementing large scale design systems for complex digital products while ensuring Accessibility compliance. Bonus points if you have B2B SaaS experience.
  • Impeccable design taste: Have a good eye for visual design and a high level of attention to detail. Be obsessed with user delight.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar. Good understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js) is advantageous.
  • Accessibility Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, 508) and best practices in digital design. Experience integrating Accessibility considerations into design systems.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and translate business requirements into scalable design.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across disciplines.
  • Passion for Innovation: A passion for staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices
