Lead Design Manager(Process Equipment for Chemical and Pharma)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to lead and manage the design and engineering team in a chemical processing equipment manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and optimization of pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards, and driving innovation in design processes.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strategic vision to deliver high-quality designs that meet client requirements and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management:

2. Design & Development:

- Oversee the design and development of Agitated reactors, , and other related equipment.

- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

- Ensure designs meet functional, technical, safety, and cost-efficiency requirements.

3. Compliance & Standards:

- Ensure adherence to national and international design codes such as PED, ASME Section VIII, Division 1 & 2 or equivalent.

- Conduct technical risk assessments and design reviews to ensure regulatory and client compliance.

- Stay updated on changes in codes, standards, and technologies relevant to the industry.

4. Innovation & Optimization:

- Drive innovation in design processes and adopt advanced design tools and technologies (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PV Elite, ANSYS).

- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.

- Implement and maintain digital transformation practices like 3D modeling and simulation techniques

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

- Full time Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in Equipment Design, with at least 8+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Hands-on experience with design tools such as PV Elite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and other FEA tools.
• Hands-on experience of designing rotating equipment (Major experience in rotating) and pressure vessels is mandatory.
• Experience of Machinery manufacturing; Modular Systems and skids etc is good to have.

Technical Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of ASME, API, PED, and other international codes and standards
• Proficiency in design calculations, material selection, and welding processes for pressure vessels
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including forming, welding, machining, and testing

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective client and internal stakeholder interactions.
