We are seeking a
Lead – Design & Engineering to lead and manage the engineering design activities for
electrical Low Side works for hyperscaler data center projects mainly involving
electrical low side works i.e MV and LV System, RMUs, Transformers, busduct, UPS, cabling system, ELV system
This role is suited for a experienced EPC engineering professional with strong capability in
end‑to‑end electrical engineering delivery, coordination with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and client/PMC, and ensuring design compliance with project requirements, codes, and data center standards.
The Lead – Design & Engineering will be responsible for timely delivery of complete, coordinated, and constructible design documentation, supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning while managing interfaces, technical risks, and changes.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead and manage the complete electrical Low Side design and engineering scope from concept to As‑Built stage.
- Review project requirements, specifications, employer's requirements, and standards applicable to hyperscale data centers.
- Develop and approve design basis, single line diagrams, layouts, schematics, calculations, and detailed engineering drawings (IFC & Typical installation drawings)
- Coordinate with client, Engineering consultants, PMC and internal stakeholders to address design clarifications and approvals.
- Review of LOD-300 model and drive team for further developing it upto LOD-500. Co-ordinate with consultants and vendors for clash free BIM Model prior to execution.
- Manage interfaces with engineering teams for MEP & ELV power systems to ensure integrated design.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to finalize technical specifications, BOQs, and vendor evaluations.
- Review and approve vendor drawings, technical submittals, and data sheets.
- Support site teams during construction with design clarifications, technical queries, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Manage design changes, BOQ Changes value engineering proposals, and deviations in line with project controls.
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones in alignment with project schedules.
- Maintain proper engineering documentation and contribute to project technical close‑out.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience & Competencies
- 10–15 years of experience in electrical design and engineering within EPC projects.
- Strong experience in data center, hyperscale, or mission‑critical electrical infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Proven capability in Low Side electrical systems including MV & LV distribution, UPS, batteries, cabling, earthing, and auxiliary systems.
- Solid exposure to EPC engineering execution, vendor coordination, and site support.
- Strong understanding of international and local electrical codes and data center standards.
- Experience interfacing with clients, PMCs, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage engineering delivery under fast‑track, high‑pressure project environments.
- Strong technical leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
